Criados músculos em robôs que levantam 1.000 vezes o seu peso
Created muscles in robots that raise 1,000 times their weight

This breakthrough is a step in the field of robotics that will replace the older generation of robots with rigid movements, according to researchers who published the study at the National Academy of Sciences.
"It's like giving superpowers to these robots," said Daniela Rus, a professor of electrical engineering and computer science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The muscles (or actuators) are built on a structure of metal coils or sheets of plastic and each one costs about a dollar to manufacture, the study indicates.
According to the researchers, a muscle of 2.6 grams can lift up to three kilograms, the equivalent of a duck lifting a car.
