Xperia 1 VI 3.5 mm headphone jack support seemingly confirmed
There seems to be little doubt now that the Sony Xperia 1 VI will arrive with support for a 3.5 mm headphone jack. A recent social media post from Sony Xperia Global should allay any fears that Mark 6 variants of phones like the Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 could lose the beloved headphone jack. The Xperia 1 VI is expected to turn up around May time.
Recent reports about the Sony Xperia 1 VI may have left some fans disconcerted about the future of the line, as there are rumors suggesting that a new design language is incoming. The Xperia 1 line is renowned for a number of reasons, with its stand-out-from-the-crowd design being one of those reasons. However, if Sony does decide to switch the Xperia 1 VI display and form up, making it look more like the average smartphone, does it also mean other unique selling points are under threat, such as support for a 3.5 mm headphone jack?
Fortunately, a new post from Sony Xperia Global on X (formerly Twitter) points in the direction of the continuation of 3.5 mm headphone jack support inclusion. The post, which is embedded below, reads, “for that unique wired listening experience, we continue to ensure all lines of Xperia come with a 3.5 mm jack”, while being accompanied by images of the Xperia 1 V, Xperia 5 V, and Xperia 10 V all having their jack connectors utilized.
This also indicates that if there is a Sony Xperia 5 VI and Xperia 10 VI due out this year then they will join the Mark 6 model of the Xperia 1 by sporting the much-desired 3.5 mm headphone jack. This appears to be the first official confirmation about 2024’s Xperia lineup, with the Sony Xperia 1 VI rumored for a May release date. The Xperia 1 line has witnessed the absence of the headphone jack in the past, with the original 2019 model not including the connectivity option. The Mark 5 model of the Xperia 1 does have a headphone jack and is available on Amazon.
