DORO

Company releases senior-friendly wireless headphones

It will be easier to hear what is being said on TV and in conversations with the new handsets from Doro.

The manufacturer Doro is probably best known for its mobile phones adapted for seniors, but now they are expanding the range with a new segment – the wireless earphones HearingBuds, also adapted for seniors. Part of what is special for seniors is that the earphones are capable of sensing which ear they are in, making it easier to put the earphones in the right ear.

Via an app in the mobile phone, the sound image of the headphones is adapted based both on the particular person’s hearing loss and also on the environment the user is in, and can thus create ready-made sound profiles for different situations.

The headphones are not primarily intended for music and audiobooks, but for television sound, and should also facilitate conversations by amplifying speech up to 15 dB without shutting out all sounds from the environment. It has been made possible thanks to advanced sound technology and algorithms developed in collaboration with researchers from Lund University.

Doro HearingBuds work with Ios and Android and have a battery life of up to 12 hours with two additional charges in the case. They will be available from the beginning of October with a price tag of SEK 3,495.
