XR21: the new ultra-durable gadget designed for life's adventures

HMD, global owner of the Nokia brand, introduces the Nokia XR21, a smartphone that cures “phone anxiety” – the fear of your phone being dropped, damaged or malfunctioning – thanks to its proven durability and two-day battery life guarantee .

Equivalent to the Nokia 3310 (the nearly indestructible original phone), the Nokia XR21 is a drop, dust and water resistant smartphone. It withstands everything from a fall out of a pants pocket and the first impact to the ground, to a 72-hour hike in pouring rain.

Adam Ferguson, head of marketing for Nokia phones, says: It has received MIL-STD-810H durability certification, making it resistant to drops, dust and water. Furthermore, during internal testing, the Nokia XR21 survived a drop from a height of 1.8 m, as well as immersion in 1.5 m of water for up to an hour and a shock with the same pressure as a jet of water. 100 bar water (higher than the burst pressure of UK fire hoses) with a water temperature of 80 °C.

Withstands extreme temperatures and charging gaps...Nokia XR21's durability extends to battery life. It can last for two days between charges. Furthermore, the Nokia XR21 is up to the task when you find yourself in nasty or extreme climates.

It can withstand and be used in temperatures between -20°C and +55°C – the latter one degree less than the highest recorded air temperature on Earth in California's Death Valley. And the 6.49-inch screen can be used with wet hands, in the rain or with gloves on. Perfect for surviving a festival weekend, a day hike or bike ride, or a family road trip without a charger.

AI fun... Stereo speakers with OZO playback deliver immersive sound that captures every detail of videos, music and podcasts – perfect for fun at a summer picnic listening with friends. The best AI-powered imaging algorithms found in Nokia devices such as AI Portrait, Night Mode 2.0 and Flash Shot ensure memories are captured in superb quality. For noisy environments, the 96dB stereo speakers come with a sound boost mode that helps you hear amplified sounds instead of background noise.
