Mark Gurman: Apple Watch Series 9 with the same performance as an iPhone 14
Bloomberg insider and journalist Mark Gurman shared information that the future Apple Watch Series 9 smartwatch will receive a completely new chipset based on the A15 Bionic chip.
As you know, for the last three generations of watches, Apple has used the same chip, but with different names. This applies to the current Apple Watch Series 8 with the S8 chip, last year's Series 7 with the S7, and the 2020 Series 6 models with the S6 chip.
This year, according to Gurman, everything will change. For the Apple Watch Series 9, the company is preparing a completely new processor based on the A15 Bionic chipset, which is powered by the iPhone 14/14 Plus, iPhone 13 Pro/13 Pro Max and iPhone 13/13 mini smartphones.
Perhaps Apple needs a truly powerful chip to implement some of watchOS 10's features. The new operating system is rumored to offer interactive widgets and a completely redesigned interface. There are still no other experts regarding the next generation of iPhone smartwatches.
We remind you that the official announcement of watchOS 10, iOS 17 and other major updates will take place on June 5th.
