ESSENTIAL
Android creator wants to launch smartphone capable of responding to messages
Not satisfied with having created the Android operating system and its own smartphone company, Essential, Andy Rubin wants to launch a smartphone capable of being his personal assistant. In fact, Rubin wants this smartphone to be so smart that it can send messages for you.Essential Bloom's concept of this upcoming smartphone may sound futuristic, but Rubin's idea is that the company's Artificial Intelligence (IA) allows the device to schedule meetings, respond to e-mails and text messages, and accomplish even more tasks. The goal is to free the user as much as possible from these tasks.Although many may not be willing to give control of their responses to an AI, the truth is that companies such as Google are already allowing it in services such as Gmail smart responses. It will therefore be a matter of time before more services begin to implement this functionality so that Essential introduces a device like the one Rubin describes.
