Samsung makes fun of the new iOS 26 interface

The presentation of iOS 26 marked the beginning of a new era in Apple's system design, with the introduction of the Liquid Glass concept. This visual language, which focuses on transparency and dynamic glass effects, was one of the highlights of the WWDC 2025 event. However, while Apple highlighted its new look and artificial intelligence features, Samsung took advantage of the moment to launch several provocations and comparisons on social media.

Liquid Glass, now transversal to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS, promises a more expressive and immersive experience, with system elements reacting in real time to light, content and movement. Apple highlights that this is the biggest design leap in recent years, with buttons, navigation bars and notifications gaining a translucent and fluid appearance, inspired by visionOS.

However, Samsung did not miss the opportunity to remember that it had already bet on a similar approach with the launch of One UI 7, which brought glass surfaces and transparency effects to its own Galaxy devices. On social media, the South Korean brand shared ironic comments about the “new” look of iOS 26, suggesting that the inspiration may have come from the Android universe. In addition to the design, Apple announced the arrival of real-time translation features, integrated into the Messages, FaceTime and Phone apps, thanks to the new layer of artificial intelligence. 

Samsung was quick to point out that these tools have been available on its Galaxy devices since the launch of the S24 series, and that its AI-powered translation platform has already expanded to other models. The teasing also extended to the Apple Watch, with Samsung emphasizing that its Galaxy Watch has already offered intelligent replies in messages and sleep analysis based on artificial intelligence for several generations, while Apple is only now introducing a smart “workout buddy”. Samsung also took the opportunity to point out similarities between the new features of iOS 26 and tools already known in the Android universe, such as Call Screening and Hold Assist, which are reminiscent of the Call Screen and Hold for Me options on the Google Pixel, available since 2018.

Despite the provocations, the presentation of iOS 26 marks an important moment for the Apple ecosystem, by aligning design and user experience across all platforms and reinforcing investment in artificial intelligence. Samsung's response shows that the competition between the giants remains fierce, with each brand trying to lead in innovation — and sense of humor — whenever something new comes out.
