LG Smart Monitor Swing: 4K touchscreen and mobile stand

LG has announced the availability of the LG Smart Monitor Swing (model 32U889SA) in Portugal from September, with a recommended retail price of €999.99.

The monitor features a 32-inch IPS panel with 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) and integrates the webOS operating system for autonomous operation. Its concept was recognized with an Innovation Award at CES 2025.

The main physical element of the monitor is its flexible stand. The structure allows a wide range of movement, with height and angle adjustments. This design is designed to adapt the screen to different usage scenarios, from the traditional setup on a table to reclining positions that facilitate tactile interaction.

The ergonomics of the stand are designed for different types of tasks. The ability to position the screen at various angles is useful for creative activities, such as digital drawing, or for using the monitor as a music stand.

The 32-inch IPS panel has a 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160). The inclusion of LG’s webOS Smart TV platform allows for the installation of productivity and entertainment applications. The LG Smart Monitor Swing is the first in its line to include a touch screen.

The device has integrated speakers and several connectivity options, including HDMI ports and a USB Type-C port that supports power delivery of up to 65 W. In terms of software, the Auto Pivot function adjusts the screen orientation, while Brightness Control regulates the lighting according to the ambient light.

Computer integration...When connected to a computer, the LG Smart Monitor Swing’s capabilities are expanded using the LG Switch application. This software allows, for example, to activate the Auto Pivot feature in the PC environment, something that otherwise works only in webOS.

The application also offers productivity tools, such as the ability to split the screen into predefined layouts or control multiple devices with a single keyboard and mouse. The goal is to ease the transition between standalone use of the monitor and working with an external computer.

The company positions the LG Smart Monitor Swing as a multifaceted device that combines the functionality of a Smart TV with the versatility of a desktop monitor.
