Call of Duty®: Mobile x NieR: Automata - Operator Teaser

Get ready for a collaboration that promises to shake up the Call of Duty Mobile universe! The popular mobile shooter, which has been consolidating its success with constant content updates and partnerships, has just announced a crossover with the acclaimed NieR: Automata.

The iconic protagonist 2B is set to join the battlefield this Wednesday, May 28, with the start of Season 5. This news comes as a testament to the vitality of CoD Mobile, especially when compared to the recent announcement of the closure of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, less than a year after its launch.

The official confirmation came through an intriguing “teaser” trailer released on the Call of Duty Mobile YouTube channel. In the video, the character 2B is introduced with the phrase “Built for war. Designed with purpose”, a description that will certainly have you eagerly awaiting her arrival. The inclusion of a fan-favorite figure from NieR: Automata promises to inject a new dynamic and eye-catching twist into the already popular CoD Mobile.

Season 5, which will host this collaboration, has been titled “Primal Reckoning.” Expect an overall dystopian and futuristic theme, heavily inspired by the aesthetics and universe of NieR: Automata, which will be reflected in various aspects of the game.

With the start of the new season, a revamped Battle Pass packed with rewards alluding to this partnership will also arrive. Get ready to unlock a variety of Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints, and other cosmetic items, all of which are designed with the influence of the world of NieR in mind.

Among the highlights of the themed content, you’ll find Operator Skins such as Kestrel – YoRHa No. 2 Type B (representing 2B herself) and Fiona St. George – Commander White. These will be available through “Draws” (an in-game lottery system). Additionally, there will be a special event that will allow you to obtain the Kui Ji – YoRHa No. 9 Type S operator, thus expanding the range of themed characters.

The collaboration between Call of Duty Mobile and NieR: Automata will not be limited to cosmetic items only. Season 5 will bring with it a new limited-time game mode, designed specifically based on the NieR universe. In this mode, you will aim to complete missions to accumulate Action Points.

These points will be your currency to progress through a path with multiple branches and decisions. You will have to reach strategic checkpoints, navigate counterattack routes and collect “Skill Chips” that will allow you to unlock exclusive paths within the game mode. If you succeed in your raids and successfully complete the counterattack, you will be rewarded with valuable prizes, including the aforementioned Kui Ji – YoRHa No. 9 Type S operator and four distinct melee weapons, all of which feature designs inspired by the NieR arsenal.

The character 2B is, in fact, a veteran when it comes to guest appearances in other video game universes, often referred to as the “queen of collaborations”. Since the release of NieR: Automata in 2017, 2B has appeared in titles as diverse as Soul Calibur, Granblue Fantasy Versus, Gravity Rush 2, Stellar Blade, Fall Guys, PUBG, The First Descendant, among many others.

While Call of Duty Mobile already enjoys a solid popularity and player base, thanks to its constant updates and previous partnerships, this collaboration with an intellectual property as strong as NieR: Automata has the potential to attract a considerable number of new fans to the game’s frenetic action. If you’re a fan of Call of Duty Mobile, NieR: Automata, or both, this Season 5, which kicks off this Wednesday, is an experience you won’t want to miss.
