Samsung Galaxy A56 5G users have shared experiences of bootloops

The latest software update for the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G, which introduced a faster way to access Google’s Gemini AI assistant, is reportedly causing unexpected difficulties for some users. While the side button feature to activate Gemini was intended to improve productivity, reports have shown that several devices have become completely unusable.

Samsung Galaxy A56 5G users have shared experiences of experiencing a bootloop — a vicious cycle of reboots — after installing the latest One UI 7, with the device stuck on the boot screen. However, there appears to be a quick fix for this issue.

Earlier this month, Samsung made available an update based on Android 15, with build number A566BXXU3AYDK, for the Galaxy A56 5G. Shortly after, the South Korean technology giant's community forum began to receive a considerable volume of complaints from users who were experiencing problems with their devices.

In one of the posts, as reported by the Dutch publication GalaxyClub, a user described how his phone had become stuck on the boot screen, the one that shows the gears turning, making it impossible to use it. Even performing a soft reset (simple reboot) had no effect. Although the intention was to perform a hard reset (factory data restore), the recovery menu could not be accessed.

Despite the scare, there seems to be a quick fix for this failure. According to the information shared on the forum, removing the SIM card tray, followed by a restart of the Galaxy A56 5G, resolves the situation. To do this, you need to turn off the phone before removing the tray. If you are a user of a physical SIM card, this method should work. For those who use eSIM, the good news is that it is also possible to recover the device's operation, just skip the step where you are asked for the SIM password.

It is crucial to keep in mind that this is just a workaround and not a definitive fix for the bootloop issue affecting the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G. Samsung is expected to release a new update soon to permanently resolve this issue. According to Samsung, the One UI 7 update introduces a new way for users to access Google's Gemini and other digital assistants. Instead of the swipe-up gesture from the corner of the screen, you can now summon the AI assistant by pressing and holding the side button.

The company also says that this functionality is customizable and can be changed in your device's Settings. Additionally, Gemini comes with improved integration with Samsung apps such as Calendar, Clock, Notes, and Reminders. This means that you can perform various actions within these apps through voice commands directed to Gemini. For example, you can ask the assistant for information about a YouTube video, save something to the Notes app, or look up more data about your favorite sports team's schedule and add it directly to your calendar.
