Nokia 225 4G 2024: Feature phone slated to arrive soon with a USB-C port
HMD Global plans to refresh 2020’s Nokia 225 4G with a larger battery and a USB-C port. Everything else will be mostly identical across both phones, including its screen, memory, storage and numpad.
HMD Global seems to be the only company interested in keeping feature phones alive under the Nokia branding. Over the years, we've seen quite a few classics such as the Nokia 225 make a comeback with (somewhat) modern hardware. OnLeaks and Android Headlines say that the phone will be refreshed once again.
The Nokia 225 4G 2024 will be one of the handful of feature phones that will use a USB-C port, Historically, these devices often came with proprietary or the now-dying micro USB ports. Other than that, it'll be pretty much identical to its 2020 version, complete with 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of storage. An upgraded 3 MP (vs 0.8 MP) rear camera module is also possible.
The Nokia 225 4G 2024 will keep its predecessor's 2.4-inch screen and use an upgraded 1,450 mAh battery instead of a 1,150 mAh unit. This can potentially result in multiple days of battery life. Lastly, the Nokia 225 4G 2024 will run HMD's in-house S30+ OS instead of the more popular KaiOS, meaning you won't be able to run any modern-day app on your phone. Then again, the decision could be deliberate. HMD plans to unveil the phone soon for around $100.
