Dimensity 9300+ specifications and performance confirmed by new leak
Geekbench and AnTutu scores of the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ have emerged online. The SoC outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in both tests by a narrow margin. It is slated to debut alongside the Vivo X100s Pro in the coming weeks.
Qualcomm and MediaTek usually launch two flagship mobile SoCs every year. This time around, there has been no indication about Qualcomm's plans of a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 3 variant. On the other hand, MediaTek will continue the practice with the Dimensity 9300+, which is slated to power the Vivo X100s Pro and Redmi K70 Ultra. A Weibo post has now (H/T @faridofanani96 on X) shed light on its tentative performance.
A Geekbench listing of the Vivo X100s confirms that the Dimensity 9300's primary Cortex-X4 core is clocked at 3.4 GHz, while the next cluster (3x Cortex-X4) run at 2.85 GHz. The four Cortex-A720 cores' clock speed remains unchanged at 2.0 GHz, along with its Arm Immortalis-G720 MP12 GPU (1,300 MHz). Like its predecessors, it is a minor spec bump that results in an equally minor performance boost.
In our in-depth Vivo X100 Pro review (curr. $929 on Amazon), we found the Dimensity 9300 to thermal throttle heavily under sustained loads. Whether or not the Vivo X100s will be afflicted by the same issue remains to be seen. Then again, this gives MediaTek a brief period of time when it is ahead of Qualcomm in benchmarks because Qualcomm has no plans for a mid-cycle refresh.
