HTC U23 Pro: the return of the Taiwanese brand with its new mid-range gadget

HTC returns to the mobile market with a new mid-range smartphone, the HTC U23 Pro. HTC that is taking advantage of the end of spring to formalize its new smartphone, still on Android, of course.

In fact, this is not necessarily new, as the Chinese manufacturer had already taken advantage of the launch of its super-light Virtual Reality glasses, the Fluxo VIVE, to discreetly launch the Desire 22 Pro, a mid-range smartphone to accurately accompany its VR glasses. .

So here's the new HTC U23 Pro that will be available from next June in France. Needless to say, once again, this smartphone will have as its main objective to highlight the brand's VR headsets to provide even more performance and flexibility. Incidentally, in HTC's communication, the manufacturer associates the U23 Pro with the VIVE XR Elite, HTC's latest VR headset.

The new HTC U23 Pro is a mid-range smartphone and therefore offers a 6.7-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning's Gorilla Glass Victus coating. It embodies in its bowels a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC with 256 GB of internal memory and 12 GB of RAM, all with a MicroSD port. Available in two colors (Coffee Black and Snow White), the HTC U23 Pro is IP67 certified and has a 3.5mm audio jack.

On the autonomy side, we can count on HTC to offer a 4600mAh battery, which is average and which should guarantee the user at least a full day if not two. Something rare to underline, if we find a 30W fast recharge, we also find a 15W wireless recharge.

A complete block of photos... Mid-range smartphone, the HTC U23 Pro will have a lot to do with the competition of the Google Pixel 7a, Samsung Galaxy A54 or even Phone nothing (1). In addition, there is a complete photographic block consisting of four cameras.

The camera offers a 108-megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens, an impressive f/1.7 aperture and optical stabilization. We find on the side an ultra wide angle with an 8 megapixel sensor, a 5 megapixel macro and a last 2 megapixel camera for depth detection. On the front, the front camera has a 32-megapixel sensor. Of course, we find video recording up to 4K and a night mode that we will call Super Night on HTC.

HTC is relaunching itself in the smartphone market, it is not so much to compete with the market leaders, but above all to accompany its virtual reality headsets like the VIVE Flow or more recently the VIVE XR Elite.

HTC VIVE is the Taiwanese manufacturer's virtual reality platform and ecosystem. The VIVE ecosystem is built around VR hardware, software and content. The VIVE business encompasses the

XR hardware, VIVEPORT app store and platform, VIVE enterprise solutions for enterprise customers, VIVE X, a VR business accelerator, and VIVE ARTS for cultural initiatives. For more information, visit www.vive.com.

Pricing and Availability...The HTC U23 Pro is available for pre-order starting today on the manufacturer's website and at many retailers starting at €549.
