Company to start production of its 2nm chips from 2025

TSMC is the undisputed leader in the semiconductor sector, which makes it the first choice of several major brands in the technological world, such as Apple, Nvidia, Qualcomm, among others. And as evolution cannot stop, recent information indicates that the Taiwanese giant should start production of its advanced 2nm chips as early as the year 2025.

According to recent reports of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the mass production of chips manufactured in 2 nm lithography should start in the year 2025. production can take place under the right conditions.

In addition to this information, some rumors indicate although, after the arrival of 2 nm lithography, the Taiwanese giant should focus on a special production method called N2P, scheduled for 2026. TSMC has not yet confirmed this possibility, but this process also happened in the 3 nm chips that then received an improved N3P version through refinement of the manufacturing process.

Both the 2nm process and the improved version are estimated to be produced at TSMC’s Baoshan factory, located in the Taiwanese city of Hsinchu. However, for now the exact dates for the start of this production are not known, but more details should be revealed in the coming months.

This information will certainly reassure the technological brands responsible for creating state-of-the-art equipment, since, in this way, they will also be able to comply with their plans to bring new generation products to the market and to consumers in about two years.
