For many weeks, Ukraine has been the victim of the Russian invasion. While Facebook, Tik Tok and Instagram have been banned in the country, daring internet users have hijacked the dating app Tinder to communicate with censored Russian civilians. A group of Slovak creatives has just launched the "Special Love Operation" and has been working for several weeks. Their objective ? Disseminate real information to the Russian people in order to inform them of what is really happening outside their borders. "Dear Russians, the West does not hate you. We hate war. We hate the unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. The Russian army kills innocent people while Putin lies and hides the truth from you. Your brothers and sisters die because of the madness and the illusion of a dictator. Spread the truth, make love, not war", specifies Alex Strimbeanu, director of the Jandl agency at the initiative of the project.
This operation is possible thanks to the Tinder Plus subscription available on the dating application. This feature allows its owners to change their location. Thus, participants can geolocate themselves in several Russian cities and integrate explicit profile photos but also information in the biography part of their accounts. Be careful though, the Kremlin is trying to tighten its control over the information Russians can access online. It is therefore possible that your Tinder Plus profile will be banned, which is why it is advisable to create an account with an email address that is little or not used. The head of operations has seen several of his profiles disappear. He is now trying to get support from Tinder. In addition to allowing you to find love, the app finally has other features that we would not have considered!
