US wants to avoid entry of Huawei into Canada
After denying entry into the country to Huawei, the US is trying to prevent Chinese technological activity in neighboring countries, in this case Canada. TechCrunch tells that two US senators - Mark Warner and Marco Rubio - sent a letter to Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to stop Huawei from being part of the country's 5G network. In the letter in question Warner and Rubio point to "various evidence" on how Huawei (and other Chinese companies) are not free from control of Xi Jinping's government. The letter also states that if Canada cedes, Huawei may have access to the spying operations not only of the country but also of its allies, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. The relationship between the US government and Huawei has been filled with small 'clashes' that, in addition to having resulted in the unavailability of the company's products on the territory, have also led to a cut in relations between technology and Australia in concerns 5G infrastructures. The Canadian government has yet to speak on the letter.
