Google Translate wins support for 13 new language translations in real time
The American giant has announced that its app is now able to translate 13 new languages in real time. The update will reach the version for Android and iOS.This addition will translate into visual recognition of text. The update includes translations into Arabic and Hindi, bringing together billions of speakers around the world. Bengali and Punjabi are also integrated in this range, which represents a substantial bet on the Indian market. With this news, users can now open Google Translate, choose the camera option, and point to text that is written in one of these languages for a visual translation in real time. If you prefer, users can also take a photo of the text and request a translation.Visual translation was implemented in 2015. The app now supports 50 languages in this instant translation mode.Real-time translations are possible thanks to a system called Neural Machine Translation (NMT), which consists of a machine learning technique capable of completing translations by predicting the sequence of words that follow the words that are most easily identifiable in the text.
