On CarFord wants to replace the wheel with a smartphone

Like other car manufacturers, Ford is developing its own standalone driving system. Although it has confidence in its work, the American manufacturer is considering giving control to the user if it is necessary to take action, and it can do it in a very alternative way.
The Autoblog says that Ford has been granted two patents describing these alternative modes. While the first allowed the driver to access his smartphone and tilt it to control the direction of the vehicle, the second would only need the driver's finger to interact with a virtual steering wheel.
As interesting as it might be to use a smartphone or touch screen to have control of a car, the patent does not properly mean that these systems are adopted in the future, yet still represent a work in progress.
