Apple and Amazon were targeted by Chinese spies, says Bloomberg
An investigation by Bloomberg reveals that a total of 30 US companies and banks - among them the technology giants Apple and Amazon - have been targeted by Chinese spies.
The method used to monitor these companies will have been through a small microchip provided to the company Supermicro, which were integrated into the servers of the companies spied. The goal will have been to steal confidential information contained in these data centers and, to the best of our knowledge, no data has been stolen from the customers of these companies.
Bloomberg reports that 17 anonymous sources said companies were aware of the presence of these microchips but, when confronted, they rejected the allegations.
Above you can see the image created by the American publication that give you an idea of the size of the chip in question.
